Managing Anxiety Related Conditions
Anxiety Related Conditions and how Counselling can help
There are many ways in which conditions that are related to anxiety can manifest themselves. When faced with threatening situations, the typical response is anxiety brought on by the typical “fight, flight, freeze” response, this can also produce other unpleasant side-effects such as avoidance behaviours, panic, sweating, heart palpitations and tension as well as feeling trapped.
The side effects bought on by anxiety can adversely impact your daily life, keeping you from being able to do things that you would like to do. Some of the conditions relating to anxiety include:
- Constant feeling of anxiety itself
- GAD – Generalised Anxiety Disorder
- PTSD / Trauma
- Panic Disorder
- Stress at work
- Issues of low self esteem
- Health anxiety
- Trichotillomania (hair pulling)
- Agoraphobia
- Body Dysmorphic Disorder / Body Image
- OCD – Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Psychosis
